This is probably one of the most expensive looking of the SUV crossover’s that we have driven here at Auto Trader. Chevrolet has achieved this by making over both the exterior and interior of the car for 2013.
The back end has been made to look more rugged and macho, with a just a hint of its more muscular cousin the Camaro, at the front added chrome and a newly styled grille help to add a touch of upper class sophistication.
And this car is big, it looks big when you walk up to it, it feels big when you drive it and it has the capacity for 7 people, the dog, a weeks’ worth of shopping and dare I say it, the kitchen sink as well!
The interior is plush and family friendly, taking into account those little necessary details like drinks holders for all passengers as well as a place between the second row back seats for iPad’s, pods and colouring books. I do wonder though if the plush leather interior will stand the test of time with young children waging food and drink war against it on a daily basis.
Now this car (or should I say truck) is billed as a crossover, but we found it lacking off-road and concluded that this is not its natural habitat. The 3.6litre V6 produces 281bhp which is smooth, fuel efficient and plenty powerful enough to not have you yawning as you accelerate.
Conclusion: it’s a great family friendly car with some nice touches and on the school run you won’t feel out of place next to a premium 4x4.
