The Hyundai Veloster is a quirky coupe with a unique look and a fantastically stylish interior, famously known for its 3 doors.
Introduced at the Detroit Motor Show in 2012, the Veloster attracted mass crowds and so far the sales of this sporty coupe are peaking. With a starting price of AED75,000 there are thousands on the roads of Dubai, mainly due to the great value for money.
With interesting features like keyless ignition, LED headlights, full leather interior, Bluetooth
connectivity, multi-function seven-inch touch screen display and so much more, the Veloster is an appealing choice. As always with Hyundai, it also comes with a ten year warranty.
The interior was a big surprise when I climbed into the car, lots of attention to detail has been implemented in the design and the styling does not stop there. The bodywork of the Veloster has lots of flair with wide arches and twin rear exhaust pipes adding to the excitement, giving a fresh look to the car.
Performance is the only area I found to be lacking. When seeing the Veloster with its 17-inch alloys and sporty bodykit it looks like it will be a relatively quick car, but this was not the case. With a 1.6L engine under the hood producing 138bhp it should have plenty of power for its petite size, but for some baffling reason, I was left in the dust of a Toyota Yaris, the Veloster could not keep up.
We are pleased to hear though, that at this year’s Dubai Motor Show the Veloster Turbo will be launched, so fingers crossed for Hyundai.
