In a unique one-off event Jaguar Land Rover opened the doors to Auto Trader and select media recently to show off its brand new AED 5.8 million engineering test centre in Dubai.
The jealously guarded facility will be a temporary home at some point for the many prototypes the company will produce over the coming years.
Dubai was picked as the ideal location for rigorous heat and humidity weather testing, with temperatures reaching +50C in the desert as well as numerous off-road and sand driving capabilities.
Dubai is the latest in the global network of extreme testing facilities which include the Nurburgring, Sweden and the USA.
JLR Director of Engineering Technical Services Martyn Hollingsworth said: “Jaguar Land Rover has ambitious plans for growth and since 2008 we have been investing to enhance our engineering capability to help us deliver an unprecedented number of new and refreshed Jaguar and Land Rover models”
Here at Auto Trader we absolutely agree with that sentiment and we promise to bring you the fruits of their labours as soon as we can!
