Sports Casual

Cadillac have made great strides towards winning buyers back with the latest ATS, CTS and XTS cars.

The XTS is their full size premium mode, the V badge means it has added power, sporty looks and feel. While the CTS V is the pick of the bunch for the real sports-car enthusiast the XTS is nowhere near that kind of ride. In its own right the XTS is a great car but the V touches are not that impressive.

410-hp from the 3.6 litre engine doesn’t offer anywhere near the pulling power potential and the difference from the regular XTS is minimal. Handling is already good on the XTS thanks to the Magnetic Ride and the XTS V offers nothing more in the wow factor. Styling is similar to the regular model which means the car looks good, a few sporty hints here and there add a little edge to the car.

Maybe the V is a little bit of a let down because in regular form the Cadillac XTS is so good anyway - there is no need to opt for the V extras, stick with the less priced and great value XTS.
